Dr. Day is an excellent doctor. He explains his results and his plan to move forward. But even before my first appointment, I was told that the staffs has Negative Attitudes and demeanor towards the patient. And sorry to say it’s kinda true. When they talk to you it’s like a Rush to get you off the telephone. They are not Pleasant to deal with or to interact with. If you can get past them, then you would have a good procedure. Note, the nurse is normally friendly.

As someone who lives on Maui. My Podiatrist there did not do this ankle fusion. I was given multiple referrals to choose from and after some research decided on Dr. Darren Day. I had later learned from my PCP office that Dr. Day was highly recommended.

Upon our first meeting he explained the details of the type of surgery that was recommended. He explained the pros and cons, and answered every question I had. At this point I was ready.

The surgery was done in March 2023. It is now 7 month's later. And after a few months of physical therapy everything is healing accordingly and I've been free from arthritic pain since the surgery. Although it will still take time for the neuritis to heal, I am walking better and hopeful that i things continue to progress.

Dr. Darren Day is personable and who's expertise made the decision for me to move forward with the surgery easy.

UPDATE:

It is now May 2, 2024. Physical therapy was completed 5 months ago. I saw Dr. Day for my final follow-up. X-rays are great. I'm walking pain free. The three scars each are about 2 inches long and noticeable. Im fine with that. while another has completely healed and no longer visible. We talked about the future of the fused areas. And what to expect. Basically that I should use the foot and not be afraid to play basketball again. Adjustments will need to be made when jumping and moving on the court as the foot is not as flexible anymore.

I highly recommend Dr. Day.

Was seen by Doctor Darren for plantar fascitis. He knew right off what it was by my describing the area and type of strain in my heel area. Gave me a shot and my foot was back to normal. He is amiable and puts you at ease immediately.

Aloha, I injured my left ankle in 2019 and recovery was more complicated than it seemed. I was referred to Dr. Darren Day in late 2022 and after a thorough examination and MRI, he recommended a 3rd surgery which he performed in January 2023. It involved not only my ankle, but my tendon, heal, arch, and other factors. Dr. Day is very caring, patient, and compassionate. I am now confidant I will be able to go back to work after completing physical therapy. His office is detail oriented and even calls with appointment reminders. Dr. Darren Day is a great podiatrist and surgeon. I’ve suffered with structural foot problems and athletic foot injuries for years and he recently performed very successful surgery on my foot.
